Girl Toys VS. Boy Toys

We currently have one boy and one girl. How do you know if you have an equal amount of girl toys and boy toys? I know it doesn't matter what child the toy was intended for - both of the kids play with all the toys that we have for them. But I think I have figured out that we definately have an adequate ratio. Here's how I know this! Today the kids were running around the house each pushing a dump truck with a baby doll in it. I just sat back and laughed!

Copy Cat!

As I am sure every one that reads this blog on a regular basis knows that we have been potty training Dani. She is what I would call potty trained or at least daytime trained. She goes to the washroom on her own, wipes herself (with the exception of poops) flushes the toilet, and washes her hands. Most times she does this without the help of Chris or I. Today she had an accident before she could get up on the potty she peed her pants. So, like I always tell her accidents happen, lets get it cleaned up. I know accidents happen but it kind of baffled me why she has gone for so long without an accident and then has one out of the blue. So when she went to the washroom this evening I watched from outside the door - I know now why she had an accident!!! She has to go but she is helping her dolly and her bear go pee before she goes! When I asked her what she was doing she told me that her doll and her bear have to go potty too cause they don't like pee in their pants! I asked her if she had to go potty and she said yep - I have to do a poop and a pee. So she sat her doll and her bear on her stool (their potty) and got up on the toilet to do her business. When she was done I went in and wiped her bum and she asked me for a wipe for the bear and doll also! I almost fell over laughing! Its amazing what two year olds come up with!

Last night the kids had a full on crash. Dani was running full tilt from the kitchen to the living room and Zach was running full tilt from the living room to the kitchen. They came around the corner and hit so hard it knocked both of them flat on their asses! They both have these massive goose eggs on their foreheads. They are about 4 pounds different in weight so when they hit it stopped both of them right in their tracks. Of course Chris and I thought it was hilarious - the kids not so much!!

In baby news... My last ultrasound went great aside from the whole loaded bladder thing they make you do! The heart rate was at 137 bpm. The baby is about 15 cm from bum to head. We got some more really great ultrasound photos. This kid is VERY VERY active. It is moving enough now that Dani puts her hand on my belly to feel it kick and gets very excited when it does. Zach really doesn't care! If he is sitting with me and feels it move he just moves over to get away from it.

The kids are going trick or treating this year with Chris. They are both dressing up as clowns. I almost have Zachs costume finished - I just have a big bow to make for the collar. Dani is going to wear the clown one I made her last year. My friend and I are going to do a whirlwind road trip from here to Grande Prairie when she gets back from holidays. We are leaving here the 29, shopping the 30 and driving back the 31. Its 13 hours from here to there - maybe we are crazy! She is moving to Pond Inlet, Nunavut on the 8th so she needs a years supply of food and shit tickets to take with her cause the next barge doesn't go that way till August! We may or may not make it back in time for the town bonfire halloween night but Chris is off so he will be able to go and enjoy it with the kiddos! I'll put some pictures up once I get the costume finished. Night all!
