Dani's big bed and yet another fish story!

Chris and I have been putting off building the toddler bed and having to move the cribs around until Tuesday afternoon when the little ape decided it was high time for her to try and climb out of the crib. Dani has been climbing anything and everything this last week. I have caught climbing into her highchair, on the coffee table, the end tables, the kitchen table, and the computer desk. Its not that I don't watch her, it takes her all of 5 seconds to get to where she wants to be. She is a fast moving kid. So her trying to climb out of the crib was the deciding factor on when to build the toddler bed. So far she seems to really like having a big girl bed. The first night went great and without incident. The second night, however, did not go so smoothly. I heard her do a little whine and then this great big CRASH!!! She started wailing so I went in and here is Dani face planted flat out on the floor screaming to beat the band! Thank goodness it isn't that far off the floor and she wasn't hurt, could you imagine if she had fallen out of the crib! Dani's crib was moved to Zach's room and the crib from Zach's room will be moved downstairs for future use.

On Thursday we went to town for a going away party for friends of ours that are moving to Old Crow. The kids and I stayed the night and did some grocery shopping yesterday and headed home. I bought some new rock and six new fish for the fish tank. I waited around for Dani to go to bed so I could clean out all the old rock, clean the tank and put the new rock in. I had cleaned the whole tank and had all the decorations in and had it three quarters full of water when the son of a bitch cracked straight across the back! Thankfully it didn't shatter like the ones in the commercials do, but it still leaked water all over my kitchen floor! So last night all of my fish were given a new home for the night - the kitchen garbage can! I filled it full of water and hooked the pump and filter up to it and plopped them all in there. Surprisingly they are all still alive!

So I went back to Whithorse today to buy a fish tank! I always hear Wal Mart employees complain about their wages - I am a firm believer that some of them are paid solely on their IQ. If your IQ is around 8 then you get $8.00 an hour. I phoned ahead of time to see if they had any 30 gallon tanks available. The guy I talked to on the phone was a friggin moron!!! I asked him the dimensions of the tank so he asked me well do you want me to go measure? I said yes please. So 5 minutes goes by and I'm on hold - it was on his dime so I didn't care. He comes back on the line and was like ummmm I forgot to take a tape measure with me so I measured it with my hand. Picture me sitting here in my housecoat - eyes rolling to the back of my head, shaking my head, silently slapping my forehead trying to figure out how out of 100,000,000 sperm that one got through! So then bone head says to me I just have to go measure my hand I'll be right back ok. So I am sitting here thinking - while listening to cheesy WalMart radio music - I know that WalMart is an equal opportunity employer but this was really pushing it. Why didn't he just take the tape measure that he used to measure his hand and go and measure the damn fish tank! So anyway I go into town and go to WalMart. I get somebody paged to pets and then I wait 20 minutes and then I go find somebody and he finds somebody else who in turn takes me to the tank. You will not believe who helped me!!! Well, he is just as useless in person as he was over the phone! I wanted to get a few more fish so I was picking them out and he dropped one on the floor and then tried to cover it up by giving me the half dead fish. I made him put it back in the tank! Anyway home I come and start un loading the fish tank. Chris and I thought we would have to knock out a row of tile on the top of the fish stand cause he said it was 31 and a half inches. Somebody should tell this guy to open the damn box next time!!! I measured the tank when I got home - it is the same length as the old tank and 2 inches taller. We got it all set up and it looks just a great as the old tank.

I will post some pictures of Dani and her new bed tomorrow - right now I am going to drag my ass to the shower and then to bed.

Night all.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!!!

Last night Chris, the kids and I went fishing with our friends J and G. It was an awesome outing! Dani wasn't to sure about the whole boat thing at first but once we got going and she got up in her chair she was able to look out into the water she just loved it. The wind was pretty cold and the water was a bit choppy at first but it calmed down a little once we got into a cove. I have come to the conclusion that the Yukon is the only place in Canada that your asshairs knot together for warmth and not because of "will nots". Chris and I both brought home a lake trout and J got one as well. Those SOB's pull like crazy! The fish were slimy and floppy - Nanook, J and G's dog loved going over to the fish and licking them and their slime - eeewwwwww!!!! The kids look hilarious mashed into their little life jackets! They both had little chipmunk cheeks! Here are some pictures from our outing - enjoy!

Immunization Day!!!

Today was immunization day for the whole family. Zach got two in each leg, Dani got one in each leg and one in her arm, I got one in each arm and Chris got one in his arm. The kids immunizations are just the regular ones for kids but Chris and I had to get the hepatitis ones for our trip to Costa Rica in December. My arms are very sore but that is ok, I would rather be sore than diseased! Anyway we are off to go fishing - I will post more and some pics tomorrow.

My husband is becoming a very patient man!

What is one thing you would never even think your husband would do for you? I never thought mine would sit patiently for over an hour and a half with a tail comb in one hand and a water bottle in the other dividing my hair into 1x1 inch squares just so I could put pony tails all over my head. Not to mention that I didn't decide to do this until last night after my shower and after the kidlets were in bed which makes us starting this little project at 11:30pm! Have to admit though he did a pretty damn good job! He would divide my hair and I would put the elastic in - I wasn't going to push my luck!!! Yesterday Chris made din din - pork chops, rice, green beans, banana pudding and banana muffins... mmmmmmmmm. He is the one that usually cooks dinner on his days off - good thing he is only off for three days at a time otherwise this whole goal of weight loss would go right out the window!!! I think he is just making up for my lacking in the kitchen. Like he always says - its not that I can't cook, it's that I don't cook. Which I admit is very true - in fact he is lucky if I make soup! I just don't have time chasing two babies around - before kids it was work. I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon on our roof cleaning out the gutters. I shouldn't have worn shorts - the shingles were burning hot and when I plunked my ass down I thought I could smell flesh burning! But because I am stubborn I just kept on going and suffering through it until it was finished. Things sure moved a lot quicker once Chris gave me the pressure washer hose! Needless to say he had to rewash the decks and the front walk way! Today we had a paediatrician appointment for Zach, he has had a raspy throat since he was about three weeks old - good news is it is nothing to worry about and he will outgrow it by the time he is one. After the appointment we went and did some grocery shopping, picked up some stuff to tile and paint a shelf for the fish tank to go on, and picked up some flowers to do the baskets on the deck. Even if I have a mud pit for a back yard at least my flower pots will look nice! I started work on the fish stand tonight - it is starting to look really good! Tomorrow I think we will be able to start the tiling! I don't know about this whole light till midnight stuff! It is almost 2am and I am still wired like it is only 8pm. Ah well I better enjoy it - winter will be here in no time! Mom, I will post some pictures soon.
Coming soon... 100 useless info's about me!
