I have been horrible at posting for the last month or so. Things have been somewhat crazy since we moved. My sister and her hubbs came up on June 30 and left on July 9. In that time we put about 3000 kms on driving from here to Whitehorse, back here, to Alaska, to Whitehorse, to Teslin, back here and back to Whithorse! A friend of ours passed away last week so we were in Whitehorse for the funeral - Chris was one of the pall bearers. I was supposed to go for my doctor appt on Tuesday but was lucky enough to change it to Thursday so that I didn't have to make two trips to town in a week. Everything seems to be going good with the pregnancy. The doctor feels that I might be a little small for eleven weeks (I feel huge already though) so she is sending me for a dates ultrasound in about three weeks. I know exactly when I got preggo but I'll do what the doc says to be on the safe side. Like I told my friends "sex around here is like laundry, gets done when it needs to be!" I joined the fire department here. They all seem pretty cool about having a girl on the department. On Thursday we are going to rip apart a few cars. Chris's mom and dad are going to be here on August 16th till the 30th. Dani has already started asking when we are going to the airport to get gramma and granpa. Discovery days is on the 19th so lucky Chris and I the granparents are taking the monsters and we get to go be in the parade. From the 23 till the 26 is the fire conference here in town - another perk to having the grandparents here! I'm looking forward to seeing them and I know they are looking forward to spending some time with the kiddos. I got the ok from my doc to book our trip back to Costa Rica in Novemeber - I am going to wait till the ultrasound and then we will see from there. This afternoon my children discovered the joys of Q-tips!!! How the HELL do they get the q-tips so perfectly in the box!!! I had to pick up 500 - yes brand new box - stinking white sticks off the bathroom floor this afternoon!!! They did not go back into the box as perfectly - in fact they don't look anything like how they started out. I'm thinking that I need to get a big zip lock baggie! Or a great big jar! Anyway, the kids are finally in bed before 11 so I am taking my sorry butt there now too! Hope everyone has a good week.

A New Sandbox
Yesterday Chris and I built the kids a new sandbox to play in. Our backyard has a nice big tree right in the middle that people have been tying their dogs to, so unfortunately there is no grass growing around the bottom of the tree - we decided it was the perfect spot for a sandbox. I feel sorry for the poor bugger that moves into this house when we leave! If they don't like it they can suck all the sand out and put in a garden. We used ten garden ties, in two layers, and made a nice big hexagon around the base. After we had been out with the kids all day yesterday we came in the house and gave them a bath - I swear half the sand we brought home was in the tub! Everything has been slowly getting unpacked. The house is starting to feel more like home now that we got some pictures on the walls. Tonight we had company for dinner. I found out that my friend was learning to play the bagpipes a few years ago and she found out that I play so now she wants me to teach her how to play! I'm pretty excited but a little bit nervous considering I haven't taught in a few years and I haven't picked the suckers up since remembrance day! I guess I better get my ass in gear and start remembering some stuff and find my teaching sheets! The first few lessons should be pretty easy considering it will just be the scale - all 9 notes! My first doctor appointment is in 11 days. I'm hoping that we will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat by then. We heard Dani's when I was 10 weeks. When I go on the 25 I will be 11 weeks. I can't believe how quickly the time is going already - I am almost 3 months already! Anyway, I'm off to bed to get some much needed sleep! Night all.
