1 More Sleep!!!

This is going to be very quick as I only have one more sleep before we go and about a million and one things to get done before tomorrow morning! I had to post a picture of Zach's new moccasins. Right now I am working on the tongues for a pair for myself - I will post a picture of them when we get home from our holidays. To all those that read this have a very merry christmas and a happy new year. I will be thinking about you all over christmas while I lay on the nice warm beach sipping daquiri's while you frolic in the really cold snow eating snow cones!!!

The kids are learning to fend for themselves!
Zach's new moccasins!
"Really mom, I wasn't teaching him how to jump!!!"
Dani at the town christmas party - she is wearing the dress my mom made for my sister.
Everyone should have one of these - Zach in a box!

Zach's New Moccasins!

The longer we live in the north the more we are getting to learn and do. We have been in Teslin for over two years now and finally we are starting to feel like a part of the community. The subtitute teaching has been going great - the principal is trying to convince me I need to go to school to become a teacher - NOT LIKELY!!! I don't mind doing this part time but I don't think I would want to do it full time - I couldn't handle the parents! I took on another part time job. I am now the literacy program co-ordinator. The best part of this job is that most of it is from home, in the evenings, on the weekends, and I get to take the kids with me wherever I go. One of the Tlingit (clinkit) elders is teaching me how to make traditional first nations moccasins. I made my very first pair of baby slippers today. They are for Zach to wear home on our trip on wednesday. He hates wearing shoes so these will be perfect. I love doing the beading but sewing the foot part was a little more difficult cause I have never used a thimble before and you definately need one to go through all three layers of leather. The only thing I have left to do to these ones is put the eyelets in for some laces and to put some black herringbone stitching on the top. Only five more sleeps till we leave to go home and I cannot be anymore excited. I can't wait to see my sisters and get in some good yacking!!!

Less than 2 Weeks!!!

I thought I would broadcast that in exactly three weeks to this day my sister will be married!!! Chris and the kids and I will be leaving for BC in 1 and a half weeks. I can barely sleep with the amount of shit I have to do still before we leave! I am making Dani a christmas dress and the fabric hasn't even made it to the cutting table yet! I have some presents for the kids that still need to be wrapped and sent down to BC (ahhh the joys of travelling during christmas.) We probably won't be bringing all of the stuff we get them cause then we have to pack it all up again and send it right on home. We are going to be in Costa Rica over christmas so we will be doing all the christmas stuff with the kids when we get home. They aren't old enough to understand the difference of the 25th verses the 29th. I am so excited to go home and see all of my sisters. The last time we were all together was when we went down to have Zach baptised. I didn't think I would miss being around them as much as I do - call me crazy but it just doesn't feel complete when one is missing! So anyway my craft fairs went well - I did way better with my partylite stuff than I did with the jars - so guess what everybody is getting for christmas this year!!! No hints! Tomorrow I am going to Atlin for the christmas fair there. Hopefully it goes as well as it has for the last three or four! And on that note the house is not cleaning itself and we have a houseload of people coming tomorrow!

Night all.
