Our latest trip to the city!

Yesterday Chris, the kids and I took a trip to the city (again). Chris had to bring one of the work vehicles in for servicing and I followed in our vehicle. Of course we are only about 20 minutes from town and you know who ralphed in the back seat! Thankfully it was mostly slobber and not curdled milk - still stunk though. We decided to FINALLY buy a new kitchen table. It is a counter height table - we decided against the glass one I previously posted about. I just look out my front window and know that I don't want glass anything for a very long time! Seats eight, has a lazy susan and a leaf. It is an amaretto color - I will try to post the picture of it but I'm not promising anything great! We also bought a portable dishwasher cause the house we are moving into doesn't have one like this house does. I can't stand washing plastic dishes.

Took the kids walking down mainstreet yesterday - each of them on a kid leash. I ran into a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a very long time. We stood on the corner and were chatting while my kids walked around like tethered dogs. This older lady came over to tell me that my son was about to run into traffic and was all snotty acting like I wasn't watching the boy child - then she says oh nevermind I see now that he is tied up. I had some grown man come over walk right up to my kids and stand there and bark at them. Do you ever have that overwhelming urge to beat the hell out of somebody? I wish that I had some witty comments to put people in their place - any suggestions? Nothing too rude just something to say to make them know that their behavior is unappreciated and that I am annoyed! Seeing as we live in communities that are heavy into dogsledding my favorite so far is "four more kids and I'm going to have a sled team" NO MOM that does not mean I am seriously having six kids! The rest of the day went well - pretty uneventful. The kids slept all the way home so my darlin daughter didn't go to bed till 2:30 this morning. They both went to bed tonight at 8 - I don't know what to do with myself! I finished stitching one of the mittens that I am making for my dad tonight. I have to stitch the other one and then do the liners and then they are finished. It looks so awesome! I will post a picture of them when I have them finished.

My Daughter is a Machine!

On Wednesday morning I had the bright idea that the kids and I would walk down to the mother goose nursery rhyme program. It usually starts at 10:30 am - I am barely moving by 10! So this bright idea came to be at 9:45. I showered rushed the kids into their outside clothes and like usual each of them had a shit in their diapers right before we walked out the door! Anyway I practically ran the whole way to the college - its about 3 km. Got there about 10 minutes late (like usual) and wouldn't you believe the damn thing was cancelled! Dani wanted out of the buggy to walk so I strapped on her leash - YES she wears a leash - and off we went. We walked from the college to the post office, backtracked to my husbands office, walked to the restaurant for lunch and then home. All said and done it was roughly about 5 km - half of it uphill. Dani only asked to be picked up once - I told her she had to walk or ride in the buggy cause mommy wasn't going to carry her! She chose to walk.

Both of the kids have been yapping like crazy. Zach is saying things like please and thank-you, mommy, daddy, mama, papa, woof, and bzzzzzz. Dani doesn't stop talking. Last night I think she went to bed pretty hungry. We had beef stroganoff stew for supper and her response to it was:
her "mommy i don wan it"
me "well this is supper"
her "i don wan it"
me "well what would you like than?" (ya right, like I'm going to start catering!)
her "uuuummmm (finger on chin) i have a chocat!!"
me "ya right, you can eat your supper in front of you"
her "i done"
me "well you can sit there and wait until everybody is done"
her "mommy i stuck"
me "i know you are, your seatbelt is on, and for good reason"

and there she sat waiting for us to finish - not without protest I might add.

If i've been out and I come home Dani's new thing is to come from around a corner and yell SURPRISE!!! Well it actually sounds like APRIZE!!!! But you get the jist! It's so cute when she says to me "hi mommy, I missed you" Zach follows his sister and is trying harder and harder to copy her every move. Its pretty entertaining. Anyway I am off to the sack - we are going to Watson Lake tomorrow - I have a show to do at two.

We're on the move!!!

After sitting on pins and needles for the last two weeks we finally got word yesterday that we are definately moving to Watson Lake. Now its just the matter of when we go. I am hoping that it will be sooner rather than later! I am leaving with the kids to fly south for a month on the 10th of May. So of course I am hoping that we move before we fly out. If it doesn't happen that way then I hope we go after my sister and her husband come up in July. I still hate the feeling of not knowing exactly when things are going to happen. We went ice fishing yesterday morning and got skunked. Then we went into Whitehorse for the show that I had booked. Tomorrow we are going to have a bunch of people over for easter dinner - 23 to be exact. So I suppose I should go and get the house cleaned up and get some buns made for tomorrow. Happy Easter everybody!

An update of sorts.

Here is an update about our impending move. We are sitting here on pins and needles waiting to hear when we are going. We have not heard anything yet. I really think that I am going to go crazy in about five hot seconds!!! Its odd to have your fate in somebody else's hands. Somebody else will decide where we will live and tell us how long we will live there. They will also tell us what house we will live in. They will tell us whether we can or can not build a fence in the backyard to keep our children in. This is everything short of telling us when to wipe our asses! I just want it to be done and over with. Maybe not so much that, I just want to have dates - do these people not realize I have a life to plan!!!! We do have a wedding and grad to go to but nooooo they can't even give us a rough estimate for when we will go! Am I frustrated HELL YA!!!! I say in july we should .... well maybe not cause we might be moving - in may we should ... in august we should .... aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!! On a brighter note however I got my new spring / summer catalogues and my kit for the summer stuff. It is so awesome!!! I am going to Whitehorse on the 13 and Watson Lake on the 22 for shows.

Ice Fishing!

On Monday Chris and I and a couple of our friends from Carcross met out at a place called Jakes Corner. From there we went out to do some ice fishing. Judging by the pictures Dani and Zach just loved it! This is the first time that we have ever taken them on this kind of an outing. Not that we didn't want to we just felt that they were too small and that it would probably be better to do when they were a bit older. We have planned to meet up with the same couple on Thursday and do it again. All morning while we were getting ready to go Dani walked around with her coat and boots and bike helmet on saying to us "c'mon c'mon let's go, gonna go pishin'". A few times she even tried dragging us to the door. We got six bites and managed to snag two pike. One was a real good size and the other one we put back cause it was a bit too small. Anyway enjoy the pics I'm sure we will have more on Thursday.
